Manchester art-pop group Dutch Uncles have announced their sixth studio album Polygon Hotel, scheduled for February 19, 2027 through Memphis Industries. The announcement arrives alongside new single "No Note" and its accompanying video directed by Patrick King. The eleven-track album follows 2023's True Entertainment and introduces an expanded six-member lineup.
Longtime touring collaborators Henry Broadhead and Neil Wright have become permanent members, joining Duncan Wallis, Robin Richards, Peter Broadhead and Andrew Proudfoot. The group produced the record themselves, with Felix Davis handling mixing. Polygon Hotel draws inspiration from the people and places surrounding Levenshulme, the Manchester neighbourhood where vocalist Duncan Wallis has established a home. Its title references a disused local pub, transformed into an imaginary meeting place for the characters and experiences explored throughout the album.
The songs examine control, personal change and the complicated circumstances that shape individual lives. Wallis reportedly recognised those connecting themes only after completing the recordings. The album includes "No Note", "No Wonder", "Catapulting", "Rialto", "Boots!" and "Wrecking House". Dutch Uncles will support the release with British concerts during March 2027, including performances in Glasgow, Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, London and Leeds.
Their music has consistently occupied an unusual position between indie rock, progressive pop and experimental arrangements. Polygon Hotel suggests that eighteen years together have done little to reduce the band's appetite for musical exploration. Apparently an abandoned Manchester pub can become considerably more interesting when somebody turns it into the conceptual foundation for an art-pop album.
