Eartheater returns with the magnificently titled ‘Heavenly Body: If I’m The Bottle You’re The Message’, an eleven-track album that explores motherhood, memory, transformation and the emotional geography of returning home. Alexandra Drewchin began developing the project after becoming a parent, and that change in perspective appears throughout a record where the body is treated as both a physical vessel and a place where old experiences continue echoing.
The album includes ‘Paradise Rains’, ‘Crown Jewel’, ‘Wasp In The Fig’ and ‘Fast Asleep’, featuring Oklou. Its production moves through experimental pop, electronic abstraction, acoustic detail and moments of almost overwhelming beauty. Eartheater has never been interested in making music that behaves politely in the background, and this album continues that tradition. It feels intimate but enormous, personal but strangely cosmic. Also, with a title this long, the record has already defeated several streaming interfaces before the first note even plays.
