HMLTD have returned with 'Blitzkrieg', their first new material since the 2023 album The Worm, released through Lucky Number in art punk and ÜberGöth.
Mixed by Nicos Kennedy, the track introduces an aesthetic the London collective calls GÖTHERDÄMMERUNG, or ÜberGöth. The language surrounding the project is characteristically extravagant, drawing on plague pits, ruined castles, witches and vampires while connecting those images to contemporary economic and political anxiety.
Musically, the single represents a deliberate return to confrontation, theatricality and structural instability. Its club-derived pressure repeatedly threatens to collapse, and the closing section refuses the reassurance of a straightforward resolution. HMLTD have described the song as a reinstatement of the values behind their earliest work: radical experimentation, revolt and a willingness to make the audience uncomfortable.
