Stockholm duo Horse Vision—comprising musicians Johan Nilsson and Gabriel von Essen—have signed to independent label Scenic Route and released their mesmerizing new single, "Goblin’s Head". Built upon an intimate instrumental foundation of acoustic piano, mandolin, and synthetic cello, the composition builds into a layered, cinematic indie-pop reflection on self-acceptance.
Lyrically, the song confronts an intricate psychological tension: identifying unhelpful behavioral patterns and character traits while still extending patience and empathy to the self that created them in order to survive. The recording marks the group’s first new music since their debut LP Another Life arrived earlier in 2026.
The partnership with Scenic Route provides Horse Vision with an international springboard to expand their audience beyond Scandinavia. Scenic Route has built a reputation for championing genre-defying artists who operate in the margins between ambient textures, chamber folk, and electronic pop.
With its evocative title and delicate harmonic progression, "Goblin’s Head" confirms Horse Vision as one of Sweden's most thoughtful emerging acts. Discover more Nordic independent gems across our indie-pop portal.
