Oakland-raised and Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Ivy Knight releases her debut album Iron Mountain on 15 May via Scenic Route. Produced and engineered by Deer park, whose credits include fakemink, Ecco2k and evilgiane, the record follows Knight’s earlier EPs and gathers songs shaped by memory, landscape and images of the American Southwest.
The tracklist includes Headlamp, Deep Blue, Red Rock, Canyon, Beacon, Steel, Leave No Trace, Swimming in Blood and Faith, which already creates a visual world of light, desert, movement and hard surfaces. Knight has described Headlamp as a song written in winter 2023, inspired by memories passing through a rear-view mirror and the act of saying thank you to them.
That makes Iron Mountain feel less like a straightforward debut and more like a memory drive through emotional terrain. The album seems interested in what geography does to memory: how red rock, canyons, steel and headlights can become containers for things that are hard to say directly. For indie listeners drawn to atmospheric songwriting, textured production and personal myth-making, Iron Mountain is a strong 15 May discovery.
