Julia Holter shares 'My Lost One', a minimal and dreamlike preview of forthcoming album 'Materia'. Breathy vocals and Chris Speed's ambiguous saxophone create the atmosphere of a spell being remembered incorrectly, while Holter imagines trees growing through living rooms and animals performing domestic tasks in clothing.

The song draws from the creepy rhymes and nonsense logic of children's literature, where a squirrel cooking dinner can feel perfectly reasonable until somebody examines the insurance implications. Holter describes the track as a witchy folktale concerned with longing, conjuring and the uneasy overlap between indoors and the natural world. 'Materia' arrives on 21 August through Domino. 'My Lost One' suggests the album will continue Holter's ability to make experimental composition feel intimate, mysterious and only one open window away from complete botanical takeover.
