Julia Holter has released 'My Lost One', the third preview of her forthcoming album Materia, due on 21 August through Domino in art pop and avant-garde composition.

Following 'The Laugh Is in the Eyes' and 'Fantasy', the new song develops a strange domestic folktale in which trees, animals and outdoor life begin crossing into human living spaces. Its imagery draws on children’s books, unsettling rhymes and nonsense syllables, creating a world that is playful at first glance but gradually becomes uncanny.

Holter imagines wildlife occupying the home, including the surreal possibility of a squirrel preparing food on a kitchen stove. Beneath that whimsical surface sits a deeper question about what people are truly attempting to summon when they long for escape, transformation or renewed contact with nature.
