Independent songwriter Aaron Clarke releases Mountain Boy’s second album The Nights on 7 August in indie folk.

Conceived as the spiritual inverse of 2024 debut The Days, the new record replaces solitude with the energy of close friends playing together in one room. Its arrangements are sparer and more unruly, while Clarke’s voice moves to the foreground instead of hiding beneath stacked vocals and dense layers of guitar.

Recent single 'Windows' opens with drums before developing into a warm full-band arrangement concerned with transformation, time and the choices that shape a life. The Nights captures an artist embracing collaboration after entering his first year without management and returning fully to independent operation.
