Experimental pop label PC Music reaches an important release date today with Pop Crypt: Chronicles, a compilation of remixes and reinterpretations connected to its annual Halloween celebrations. The collection was originally announced on October 8 and is scheduled for release through Bandcamp on October 29, coinciding with the opening of the label's expanded POP CRYPT: CRYPT CUBE events.
The project includes material associated with artists appearing at this year's celebrations and supports Mermaids, a British charity working with transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse young people. Earlier previews included "Christmas/Halloween" by POBBLES, an A. G. Cook side project, alongside remixes by A. G. Cube and Kane West.
The Halloween events take place across New York, Los Angeles and London between October 29 and 31, representing the largest geographical expansion of the concept so far. Performers include A. G. Cook, Hudson Mohawke, Dorian Electra, GFOTY, Sophia Stel, Namasenda, Hannah Diamond and Iglooghost.
PC Music has played an influential role in the development of experimental electronic pop, helping establish a musical language built around exaggerated digital textures, unconventional production and deliberately artificial aesthetics. Pop Crypt: Chronicles continues that tradition while connecting recorded music with immersive live events and charitable fundraising. Halloween has always provided musicians with an excellent excuse to behave strangely, but PC Music appears determined to turn that opportunity into a fully developed international artistic programme.
