Adelaide quartet Purée return with 'Wait', their first new material since 2025 EP What Happens Now?.
Released through GYRO, the jangly indie-rock single examines the frustrating experience of two people caring deeply about each other while repeatedly failing to communicate in the same emotional language.
The track also represents a more fluid songwriting method for the band. An initial version was developed at home before being reshaped collaboratively over several months. That process gives 'Wait' both intimacy and the momentum of a full band discovering the song together.
