Melbourne-bred alternative-rock quintet Radio Free Alice have released their debut studio album What's In Between via Atlantic Records, capping a meteoric international breakthrough for one of Australia's most exciting young guitar bands. The eleven-track collection channels the melodic urgency of late-70s new wave and early post-punk into sharp, anthemic modern songwriting.

Teaser singles "Crying With You", "Rule 31", "Kick in the Shins", and "Lunch Money" showcased the band's versatility, pivoting effortlessly from jagged post-punk rhythms to soaring radio-ready hooks. Frontman Noah Learmonth noted that "Crying With You" came together during a writing retreat in Joshua Tree, where the band fused disparate melodic sketches into a towering anthem. Production was helmed by acclaimed producer Peter Katis (The National, Interpol) at Tarquin Studios in Connecticut, with additional production from Ewan Pearson and Finn Billingham.

Radio Free Alice have converted their blistering live energy into international demand. A surprise guerrilla free gig in London during August drew over 500 fans within hours, followed by standout appearances at Reading Festival, Riot Fest, and Austin City Limits. The album's tracklist also includes "Undressed", "Big Ideas" (featuring Rachel Brown), "Bottleshops", "Four Leaf Clover", "The Intersection", and grand finale "Waiting".

What's In Between proves that classic post-punk and new-wave elements can feel completely exhilarating when approached with contemporary passion and genuine lyrical wit. The 1980s remain an enduring source of inspiration, provided young bands bring fresh vitality to the table.
