Norwegian indie-folk songwriter Siv Jakobsen has announced her fourth studio album, Scandinavian Dread, set to arrive on March 12, 2027, via The Nordic Mellow and Virgin Music Group. The announcement arrives alongside "On You", a radiant collaborative single featuring longtime friend and Oslo contemporary Marit Larsen.
Despite the foreboding album title, "On You" delivers a joyful, uncomplicated celebration of mutual love, contrasting healthy affection with past relationships that felt like relentless obstacle courses. Recorded at Oslo's Studio Arcadia, the 11-track LP features contributions from Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Peter Sandberg, and brass arrangements by Marcus Hamblett.
Jakobsen took an expanded role as co-producer alongside Marit Othilie Thorvik, Hans Olav Settem, and Simen Mitlid, showing heightened technical assurance after previously scrapping an early version of the record in 2023 to start afresh with clearer creative focus.
