SÖT make Espurna crackle with Valencia post-punk electricity

SÖT’s Espurna sparks exactly the way the title suggests. Released on 10 June from Dos dies, dues nits via Valencia label Flexidiscos, the track sits at the meeting point of punk, indie pop and post-punk. That balance is important. Too much polish and the danger disappears; too much abrasion and the melody gets buried. Espurna seems to understand the value of keeping the flame small but sharp. Flexidiscos’ world gives the release a proper local-scene frame, and the Barcelona/Valencia punk-pop axis in the tags suggests a band shaped by rooms where speed, charm and tension can all exist at once. This is the sort of independent guitar track that does not need a huge manifesto. It just needs a clean spark, a bit of friction and enough forward motion to make you look up.
