Spanish independent-rock group The Moorland have announced Rebelde, a six-track EP scheduled for November 10 that marks the band's first release performed entirely in Spanish. Recorded and self-produced at Distopia Studio, the collection represents a deliberate shift toward more direct political and social commentary.

The accompanying music video for "El pueblo" is scheduled to premiere on October 27, featuring footage recorded in several communities across the La Litera region. The song examines rural depopulation and the disappearance of social life from smaller Spanish towns, connecting personal memories with broader demographic changes. Other compositions explore algorithmic control, social prejudice, mortality, and the increasingly commercial character of contemporary music festivals.

The title track imagines a dystopian future in 2046, while "Festimal" satirises repetitive festival lineups and the expense of attending large music events. The EP also includes an authorised interpretation of Radio Futura's "La estatua del jardín botánico". The Moorland previously released three projects in English and developed a strong reputation within the Aragonese music scene, receiving recognition at the Premios de la Música Aragonesa. Their latest recording introduces bassist Óscar Español and includes a guest appearance by Nerea Narválaz.

A supporting tour begins in Monzón on December 26 before continuing across Spain during 2027. Rebelde demonstrates how independent musicians can strengthen their artistic identity by embracing their native language and local cultural concerns. The album's criticism of algorithmic conformity is particularly relevant in an industry where musicians are increasingly encouraged to design their creative decisions around whatever happens to be trending this week.
