Swapmeet preview Mount Zero with the bright rush of 2 C U

Australian band Swapmeet have shared 2 C U, another preview of their upcoming debut album Mount Zero, due 17 July via Winspear. The new single follows I Know! and Sand, and it seems to combine the two sides of the band’s early appeal: direct, infectious indie energy and a more dreamy sense of emotional anticipation.

The band describe 2 C U as capturing the excitement of wanting to see someone, the mindless little rituals that happen while waiting, and the nerves that cannot be controlled. That is a simple subject, but a very indie-pop one: desire not as grand romance, but as the jittery time before the meeting, when everything ordinary suddenly becomes charged.
