Tearstream 2 build a strange Manchester farewell out of drone, pop and half-understood language

Tearstream 2’s self-titled album arrives on 6 June with one of the more intriguing notes of the day. Constructed in Manchester, reconstructed in London and mastered by Rainy Miller, the project is described almost like a message from a house, a friendship or a language that is breaking apart as it is being rebuilt. The Bandcamp tags place it around ambient, autotune, dark ambient, drone and pop, but the release text is what gives it emotional gravity. It talks about running away, learning a new language, mutual misunderstanding and a house returning to the market as a final resting place. That is not standard release-copy filler. It feels like the record’s emotional architecture. Tearstream 2 sounds like music made from transition: people moving, rooms emptying, words failing and electronic textures stepping in where ordinary explanation cannot reach.
