The Durutti Column announce Renascent, their first album in sixteen years

The Durutti Column announced Renascent, their first new album in sixteen years, making this one of the most important 27 May indie heritage stories. The Manchester project led by Vini Reilly has always occupied a singular space: post-punk by history, but far more delicate, guitar-led, atmospheric and quietly emotional than the usual description suggests.

Renascent is due 31 July via London Records and follows renewed modern attention around the band, including recent cultural shoutouts and the January reissue of their debut album The Return of the Durutti Column. The new lineup features Reilly with longtime percussionist Bruce Mitchell and producer Keir Stewart, and the record includes guest appearances including Caoilfhionn Rose. The announcement also came with the new single Liars.
