The Durutti Column release 'Renascent', their first new studio album in more than fifteen years. Vini Reilly, longtime percussionist Bruce Mitchell and producer-multi-instrumentalist Keir Stewart build eleven pieces around luminous guitar, ambient washes, piano, subtle beats and carefully used silence.
Guest vocalist Caoilfhionn Rose appears on 'Agonistes', while 'For Friends Everywhere' revisits ideas connected to the group’s earlier catalogue. The album does not attempt to disguise the time that has passed or recreate the Factory Records era as a themed experience. Instead, it allows Reilly’s distinctive guitar language to move through new structures while retaining its fragile, sunlit quality.
