A return after twenty years with Prang

British alternative rock band A release Prang on 22 May via Cooking Vinyl, their first studio album in more than twenty years and one of the day's clearest heritage alternative comeback releases. The gap since 2005's Teen Dance Ordinance gives the album immediate narrative weight.

A were always a band built around energy, hooks, humour and big guitar-pop instincts, and Prang now asks whether that formula can survive into a very different musical landscape. The album was produced by Jason Perry and includes singles and videos connected to tracks such as Hello Sunshine, Techno Viking, Bring On the Likes, Shit Summer and Walkover.

The title Prang feels perfectly suited to the band: British, slightly panicked, funny and punchy. Comeback records after two decades can easily become museum pieces, but A's appeal has always depended on movement and directness rather than mystery.

For an indie and alternative digest, this release works as a reminder that not every 2026 story is about a new bedroom-pop act or experimental sound artist. Sometimes it is about a band from an earlier alternative era deciding there is unfinished noise to make.
