South of England alternative-rock band Glass Bridges have announced a four-track EP, In Reverence To All That We Are, due November 13 through Year Of The Rat Records, while releasing "Rage" as its third preview. The song follows "Pray" and "Wish" and provides the forthcoming EP with considerably more combustible emotional material.
Vocalist Simona Cutifani frames "Rage" not as indiscriminate fury but anger generated by caring about people who are being harmed — the sort of anger that can become motivation rather than merely another furious comment posted beneath a news article at 2:17 in the morning. Musically, Glass Bridges place that urgency inside contemporary alternative rock built for emotional scale without completely sacrificing melody. The EP will contain "Pray," "Wish," "Rage" and closing track "Absolution," which makes the sequence read suspiciously like somebody processing an entire moral crisis in four songs.
Glass Bridges will support the release with UK dates beginning at Novacaine Festival on November 28 before shows in Manchester, Derby, London and Cardiff during December. Announcing an EP and a tour together gives the new material somewhere to go beyond streaming playlists, which is increasingly important for developing independent bands. "Rage" may be about refusing to accept a world built on greed and power. Conveniently, shouting along in a small venue remains available.
