London alternative-pop performer Alfreda has announced her debut mixtape TEASERAMA! The Greatest Show That Never Happened, scheduled for January 22, 2027. The announcement accompanies new single "MOTH", a composition that transforms an uncomfortable romantic experience into elaborate theatrical pop.

Alfreda describes the project as an extension of her imaginative TEASERAMA! universe, combining previously released material with new songs and interludes that connect individual recordings into a larger narrative. Its fifteen-track sequence includes "Pink Elephants", "Girls Night Out", "Dolly the Sheep", "Mr Brown", "Patsy", "MOTH", "Suki's Shoes" and "At the Door", alongside deliberately eccentric interludes.

"MOTH" revisits a relationship from Alfreda's early twenties involving somebody she already suspected would eventually cause trouble. Rather than pretending that the experience represented a sensible romantic decision, the musician has turned its contradictions into a composition intended to make people dance. The mixtape follows Alfreda's mockumentary web series The Vanity Project, which explores the absurdities of attempting to establish a career within the music industry. Alfreda will also support CATTY during British concerts beginning in Glasgow on November 21 and concluding at London's Scala on November 26.

Apparently transforming romantic mistakes into theatrical entertainment is considerably more productive than pretending they never happened. Find more eccentric theatrical pop in our indie pop hub and catch up on the latest features in our news archive.
