British festival Boomtown has announced Bicep and reunited Dutch electronic trio Noisia as major closing performers for its 2027 edition. The festival returns to Hampshire's Matterley Estate from August 11 to 15 under the theme Wild Style, continuing its tradition of combining electronic music, elaborate stage environments and immersive storytelling.

Belfast duo Bicep will perform at The Lion's Den stage, following the planned January release of SLUG, their first album in five years. Noisia will appear at the HYDRO XL stage, which uses green hydrogen-powered technology. Their performance carries particular significance because the influential drum-and-bass group previously concluded its activities with a farewell tour. Returning together for Boomtown provides an opportunity to reconnect with an audience that played an important role in their earlier career.

The festival has also announced several changes to its physical environment, including an expanded audiovisual experience within Anara Forest and improved transport connections between its various districts. Additional performers will be revealed when the first major lineup announcement arrives on November 26.

Boomtown's previous edition featured a broad collection of electronic and alternative artists, demonstrating the festival's commitment to musical diversity. The return of Noisia and the prominent appearance of Bicep underline the continued international influence of European electronic music. Apparently retirement from drum and bass is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain when somebody offers an enormous stage and approximately thirty-five thousand enthusiastic listeners.
