Blue Bendy are returning with their second album, One Day This Will All Be Lore, due January 29, 2027, and lead single 'Dragonslayer' offers the first look at the rebuilt band's next phase. The record follows 2024 debut So Medieval and arrives after a turbulent period involving a hiatus and the departure of founding members Harrison Charles and Oscar Tebbutt.
Bassist Dina Willcock and drummer Tristan Petsola have joined the remaining lineup of Arthur Nolan, Joe Nash, Oliver Chester-Nolan and Olivia Morgan. Rather than politely ignoring the difficult period, the album appears determined to drag it into the songs. 'Dragonslayer' plays with Arthurian mythology, nationalism and the fantasies musicians construct around fame, turning heroic imagery into something decidedly less heroic.
Morgan directed the accompanying video despite having little previous filmmaking experience, describing it as an experiment in teaching herself the form. Elsewhere, album track 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' addresses Nolan's relapse and recovery during 2025. In modern experimental indie and art-rock, Blue Bendy continue to thrive by putting grand ideas inside crooked pop structures.
