French alternative-pop musician Christine and the Queens has released "Rendez-vous avec toi", also presented as "Rendez-vous in Your Arms", introducing the first material from a forthcoming album expected during spring 2027. The recording marks another development in an artistic career characterised by theatrical presentation, emotionally expressive songwriting and a willingness to explore different musical identities.
The new single examines desire, tenderness and the extraordinary emotional significance that another person's presence can acquire within a relationship. Rather than concentrating on dramatic conflict, the composition explores devotion and the quiet intensity associated with waiting for somebody important.
An accompanying music video was filmed in Paris and co-directed by Christine and the Queens and Raphaël De Albuquerque, with choreography by Alexander Ekman. The visual presentation continues the artist's longstanding interest in combining music, movement and cinematic storytelling. A series of intimate European concerts will introduce additional material from the forthcoming album. Confirmed appearances include Brussels on December 1, London on December 7, Amsterdam on December 8 and Paris on December 10. All four performances have sold out. The concerts will feature a full band and selections from earlier recordings alongside unreleased compositions.
"Rendez-vous avec toi" demonstrates that emotionally intimate songwriting can remain compelling even when presented through elaborate artistic imagery. Apparently the universe may be expanding indefinitely, but Christine and the Queens remains particularly interested in what happens when two people finally manage to occupy the same room.
