Richmond musician James Goodson, better known as Dazy, has released "Unreasonable Person", another energetic contribution to his increasingly impressive collection of alternative-rock recordings. The new single previews MAXIMUMBLASTSUPERLOUD Vol. 2: 24 Songs From 2023-2026, a compilation scheduled for October 23 through independent label Lame-O Records. The collection includes seven previously unreleased tracks alongside material recorded during the past three years.

Dazy has developed a distinctive musical identity built around fuzzy guitars, enormous hooks and an obvious affection for the more melodic side of 1990s alternative rock. His recent compositions have also incorporated breakbeats and samples, introducing additional rhythmic possibilities without abandoning the direct songwriting that made his earlier recordings appealing. "Unreasonable Person" continues that approach, delivering another compact arrangement designed around memorable melodies and energetic guitar textures.

The forthcoming compilation follows previously shared tracks "Beat Change" and "Ugly", providing a broader picture of Goodson's musical development. Outside his recording activities, Goodson also works as a publicist for other musicians, giving him an unusually direct understanding of the challenges involved in promoting independent releases. His previous collaboration with Militarie Gun on "Pressure Cooker" demonstrated how effectively his melodic instincts can complement more aggressive musical arrangements.

MAXIMUMBLASTSUPERLOUD Vol. 2 promises a substantial collection for listeners who appreciate guitar music that prioritises enthusiasm over unnecessary complexity. Twenty-four songs might initially sound like an excessive amount of fuzz-pop, but Dazy has built a reputation for producing melodies that rarely overstay their welcome. The main danger is discovering that your headphones have become permanently attached to your ears. Read more indie guitar coverage in our news section.
