Brooklyn indie-rock three-piece My Wonderful Boyfriend have signed a worldwide recording deal with New West Records and released their energetic new single "Chip City". Frontman PJ McCormick crafts a comedic yet endearing portrait of an unreliable romantic narrator confessing unreciprocated feelings after consuming too much Dutch courage.
Musically, "Chip City" channels the scrappy charm of 1990s slacker rock, driven by tumbling drum rolls, buoyant bass grooves, and intentionally rough guitar riffs. A vibrant music video directed by Godfrey Nares accompanies the release, capturing the band exploring New York storefronts and brownstones.
The trio first earned buzz on the New York circuit through self-released cassette recordings and sweat-soaked DIY club dates. Their new partnership with New West Records provides the foundation for their next creative chapter.
