22 September 2026 – Rayland Baxter Finds Solitude and Perspective on 'Bolly Plateau'

Rayland Baxter has released 'Bolly Plateau', the latest single from forthcoming album True Violet, accompanied by a new music video. The song takes its name from Baxter's nickname for the hilltop where he lives, a quiet cabin near the end of a dead-end street that has become both refuge and writing room.

That physical location provides the setting for a song built around memory, solitude and the personal changes Baxter has experienced across the last five years. True Violet, co-produced by Nick Waterhouse and Paul Butler, grew from an unusually fertile writing period in which Baxter reportedly wrote around seventy songs during a largely solitary year.

The eventual album reaches beyond isolation, incorporating themes of friendship, family, collaboration and rebuilding following difficult relationships, loss and the death of his father, musician Bucky Baxter. Across Americana and indie-folk traditions, Baxter treats his retreat not as escape, but as somewhere to take stock before moving forward.
