South London musician, vocalist and producer Sam Akpro releases Gauzy today through ANTI- Records, unveiling a mesmerizing five-track EP that reflects his rapid ascent through London's creative underground. Arriving hot on the heels of his 2025 debut album Evenfall, the new collection captures an artist distilling his singular blend of post-punk, dub rhythms, jazz inflections and smoky psychedelic production.
The EP's lead singles—"Dusty", "Wayside" featuring guest vocals from TYSON, and the swirling title track—demonstrate Akpro's effortless mastery of dynamics. He describes Gauzy as an auditory diary of personal rebuilding over the past twelve months, exploring themes of geographic dislocation, transient relationships and the thrill of moving into uncharted territory.
The complete tracklist comprises "Headspace", "Wayside", "Dusty", "Gauzy" and "Lost Property". To commemorate the launch, Akpro hosted a sold-out headline show at The Greyhound in Peckham on the eve of release, backed by Riot and the Ether with an afterparty DJ set from underground selector Kieran Dotwav.
Akpro's ongoing output emphasizes the vitality of South London's cross-genre music community, where jazz, punk, grime and club music constantly cross-pollinate in sticky basement venues. Rebuilding life after upheaval is never painless, but pairing the process with cavernous dub basslines and reverb-drenched guitars makes the journey significantly more rewarding.
