Perth quartet Sly Withers will tour Australia in November behind their fourth album ‘To Be Honest’. The run begins in Adelaide before visiting Melbourne, Hobart, Perth, Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane, with TOWNS and Bad Neighbour supporting throughout.
Released earlier this year, ‘To Be Honest’ continued the band’s combination of punk energy, enormous melodic choruses and songs about emotions that would probably be easier to discuss if everybody stopped turning the guitars up. The album reached number eleven on the Australian chart and features tracks including ‘Restless’, ‘The Hallway’ and ‘Setting Fires’. The tour should give those songs the crowded, communal setting for which they were clearly designed. Honesty may be emotionally difficult, but it becomes considerably easier when several hundred strangers are shouting the same line back at the stage.
