4 November 2026 – The Snuts Release Joy In Short Moments and Rediscover the Importance of Life Beyond Touring

Scottish indie-rock quartet The Snuts have released their fourth studio album Joy In Short Moments through their independent label Happy Artist Records in partnership with Virgin Music Group. The album arrives alongside a new music video for its title track and represents a significant personal development for frontman Jack Cochrane.

Written after returning to West Lothian following years of extensive touring, the collection explores fatherhood, emotional wellbeing and the importance of appreciating ordinary experiences. Cochrane has explained that becoming a parent encouraged him to reconsider the personal consequences of spending extended periods away from home. Those reflections influenced the album's lyrical direction, introducing a more intimate perspective without abandoning the energetic guitar arrangements associated with The Snuts.

The record was produced by Cochrane alongside Scotty Anderson in a home-studio environment. Previously released singles include "Defibrillator", "In Motion" and "PTS". The band's previous three albums all reached the British Top Three, establishing a substantial audience for their melodic approach to contemporary indie rock. Cochrane has also introduced a mental-health podcast titled Finding Joy In Short Moments, with Louis Tomlinson appearing as its first guest. A major Glasgow concert is scheduled for July 17, 2027, supported by Overpass, Cherryholt and Siobhàn Winifred.

The new album demonstrates that personal growth and commercial ambition need not be incompatible. Apparently becoming a father can provide considerably more useful songwriting inspiration than another six months spent staring at motorway service stations.
