30 July 2026 – Tokoro Wohnen Clock In At ‘Bing Industries’

Collaborative duo Tokoro Wohnen release 'Bing Industries' on 31 July through Flaming Pines. Created by Martyn Riley and Beth Robertson, the project combines sampled field recordings, manipulated cello loops, drones, spoken word, guitar and dictaphone notes gathered through improvisational sessions at Tokoro Studios in London.

Rather than presenting sound as a polished object, the duo treat recording as a way to layer associated places, times and half-preserved experiences. Robertson's words and field notes move through Riley's looping structures like somebody leaving messages inside an abandoned workplace. 'Bing Industries' sounds like a company name printed on machinery nobody remembers ordering, which suits music built from found details and uncertain functions. The album is less interested in explaining the environment than in letting listeners walk through it after everyone else has gone home. Discover more ambient news.
