Welsh-born, London-based producer and songwriter twst has announced her third EP Made In Transit, scheduled for February 17, 2027 through underplay recordings. The announcement accompanies new single "Little Deaths", an experimental electronic-pop composition influenced by artists including Prince and Britney Spears.
twst is the recording identity of Chloe Davis, whose earlier EPs TWST0001 and TWST0002 established a musical world combining digital experimentation with elaborate fictional imagery. Made In Transit introduces a more personal direction, with Davis exploring experiences that connect more directly to her own emotional life. "Little Deaths" examines the contradictions associated with attempting to escape heartbreak through temporary pleasures and distractions. Its title references the French expression la petite mort, introducing an additional layer of meaning to a composition concerned with desire and emotional loss.
The accompanying music video was filmed on Tokyo's Rainbow Bridge by Albaria, also known as Thai Boy Digital. Davis appears wearing red against an environment of passing vehicles and largely empty pedestrian spaces. Additional visual material for the EP was captured in Japan during her visit to perform at the Osaka World Expo. The single follows September release "She's Just A Friend of Mine".
Made In Transit promises another development in twst's relationship between electronic production and personal storytelling. Apparently travelling halfway around the world provides plenty of opportunities to reconsider a failed relationship, although recording a collection of glitchy pop songs is probably more constructive than repeatedly checking somebody's social-media profile.
