Fosa make Ep01 feel like a slowcore weather report from Mexico City

Fosa’s Ep01 arrives on 17 June from Mexico City, and the project’s own description makes its lane beautifully clear: slowcore, shoegaze and sadcore from the capital. Across seven tracks including Avistamiento, Slopper, Vaquero and Desde Lejos, Fosa seem interested in the emotional power of delay: feelings arriving late, guitars hanging in the room, vocals probably half-submerged in the texture, and silence doing some of the heavy lifting. That is where slowcore and shoegaze meet most effectively. The songs do not need to rush toward catharsis; they can let unease accumulate slowly until the listener realizes the weight has already arrived. Ep01 is a debut-sized statement with a strong atmosphere. It sounds like a band staring across a city from far away, letting distortion stand in for the things nobody is ready to say directly.
