Chicago post-punk trio French Police has signed with Interscope and marked the transition with the double single 'Reptile / Japan' in post-punk.
Founded in 2018 by Mexican-American singer and guitarist Brian Flores, the group also features guitarist Manny Herrera and bassist Rolando Donjuan. Years of bilingual independent releases and persistent touring built an audience across North America, Europe and Mexico before the label agreement.
'Reptile' uses driving bass, taut rhythms and layered guitars to portray obsessive thoughts circling without resolution. 'Japan' examines affection that gradually becomes possessive and conditional. Together, the tracks preserve the trio’s dark romanticism while introducing its established identity to a significantly larger audience.
