24 September 2026 – So Faint Find the Sad Space Between Commitment and Desire on 'Chain Chain Chain'

So Faint, the Vancouver duo of Hannah Georgas and Lyn Heinemann, have followed debut single "Fully Slow" with "Chain Chain Chain," another glimpse of their self-titled EP due October 16 through Beetle Bomb. Georgas describes the song as being about remaining committed to a relationship while privately recognising that something fundamental has broken.

Love is still present, but history and loyalty have begun doing work that desire once handled naturally. It is an emotionally awkward idea, which is exactly why it makes a good song. "Chain Chain Chain" grows toward an expansive, almost ecstatic conclusion while keeping melancholy inside the machinery, refusing the easy resolution of either romantic triumph or clean breakup. Georgas is familiar from her solo career and work around Broken Social Scene, but So Faint is already developing enough identity that treating the project as a side note would miss the point. The first two songs suggest a duo interested in pop structure without requiring emotional tidiness. Relationships rarely collapse at the convenient moment when affection reaches zero; "Chain Chain Chain" sits inside that uncomfortable arithmetic and discovers that loyalty can be both beautiful and terribly heavy.
